Choose work that shows different skills, not six versions of one slide.

Students should look not only at what they made, but at what each file proves about habits, thinking, and communication.
Choose work that shows different skills, not six versions of one slide.
Audience, question, and why the artifact matters.
Name the next project that would strengthen the weak skill.
Five minutes: student lists artifacts. Ten: they walk through the strongest file. Ten: mentor asks them to defend the weakest claim. Five: write the next-step sentence together.
If a teammate built the model, the portfolio should say so. Reviewers and later interviewers can tell. GVI standards require this honesty.
Leave with one accurate line for CV and one for LinkedIn certifications. Do not improvise later under adrenaline.
Model solutions, other students’ work, confidential data, or a certificate for modules not finished.
Useful if they stay quiet until the end. The review is of the work, not of the child’s personality. Parents who want process answers should use the family page and apply checklist.
“This is the question. This is the file that best shows research. This is the file that best shows judgment. This is the claim I am least sure of. This is what I want to practice next.” That script keeps the meeting from becoming a tour of every screenshot. Mentors can then spend time on the weak claim, which is the educational part.
If a parent attends, they get five minutes at the end for process questions: calendar, certificate, LinkedIn. They do not get to defend the weak claim. The work has to belong to the student.
Update the one-sentence public line. Move the chosen artifacts into a shareable subfolder. Delete or archive the rest so future-you does not attach the wrong PDF. Then put a date on the next skill gap. A review that does not change a folder was a conversation.
If every file is slides, the next project is a model. If every file is a model, the next project is a recommendation a human could use. If every file is group work, the next project is an individual brief. Gaps are a map. They are not a verdict on the student’s worth. Mentors should speak that way so families do not hear “failure” when they hear “next module.”
Write the gap into the next-step paragraph of the report with a date. A gap without a date is a personality comment. A gap with a date is a plan. Module five exists for this translation.
Do not fill a gap by buying a random extra certificate from an unrelated vendor the night before applications. Fill it with a small finished file. GVI’s library and curriculum are for that, not for panic shopping.

Each page covers a different part of the remote internship pathway so families can compare structure, work, and evidence.
