Shared brief
Twenty students on twenty unrelated topics is a club. A cohort needs a common question or a small set of tracks with the same checkpoints.
audience / GVI
GVI can support schools that want career exploration and business-skills practice without asking counselors to invent a remote internship from scratch.
Twenty students on twenty unrelated topics is a club. A cohort needs a common question or a small set of tracks with the same checkpoints.
Teachers and counselors should be able to see milestones, drafts, and who is stuck — without becoming the only coach.
A presentation day is useful if the decks have recommendations. It is not useful as a costume party for certificates.
Is this enrichment, a credited project, or a club? What year groups? Which working language? How much adult time exists for attendance and draft review? Will students work individually, in pairs, or in small teams? Those choices change the offering wrapper; they should not change the definition of a finished module.
The school-partnerships offering and the school-cohort insight exist for the operational version of this conversation. This page is the audience framing: GVI is a partner, not a substitute faculty.
Map modules onto the term before announcing the program. Put coaching calls and the final presentation on dates that are not exam week. Build one recovery checkpoint for students who miss a week of illness. Remote cohorts die from optimism about perfect attendance.
The brochure’s weekly discussions and webinars can sit in a repeating school slot. Independent laptop work cannot. Tell students that in the parent letter.
A laptop-based internship assumes a laptop, a quiet-enough place, and a connection. Schools should say what they can provide and what families must provide. Do not hide that conversation behind a “global” adjective.
Assess the brief, the source quality, the logic of the recommendation, the presentation, and the reflection. Do not assess decoration. If the school needs a grade, use the performance-review dimensions rather than inventing a separate academic rubric that rewards length.
Do not tell families the cohort is employment at a named 500-company list unless that is contractually true for those students. Do not promise recommendation letters for every participant. Do not use the 2021 brochure network figure as if it were this year’s partner appendix.
A repeating slot, a submission folder, a list of who has not filed, a presentation date, a parent FAQ that matches gvi.cc. If those five objects exist, the cohort can survive a sick week. If they exist only in a kickoff slide, the counselor will become a detective in week four.
Do not add a sixth track because a parent asked. Add a recovery checkpoint instead. Scope is kindness to staff and to students without home offices.

Each page covers a different part of the remote internship pathway so families can compare structure, work, and evidence.
