A school cohort needs shared expectations.

Schools can use GVI structure for career exploration if schedule, support, and showcase are designed before recruitment posters.

Level

Grade and writing skill shape project complexity.

Output

Reports, decks, and portfolios create different loads.

Review

Mentor and staff moments on the calendar, not “as needed.”

Scope to the adult time you actually have

One counselor and forty students cannot run five tracks with private coaching. Two tracks, teams, written comments, one presentation day. Quality is a staffing fact.

Parent letter contents

Format, weekly independent hours, integrity, certificate meaning, LinkedIn policy, what the school will and will not grade. Link to gvi.cc/audiences/families/ and standards.

Devices and quiet

Say the laptop requirement. Provide a library option if you can. Do not call the program global while ignoring who has no door.

Assessment

Mark the brief, the recommendation logic, the presentation, the reflection. Do not mark hours logged as if they were learning.

Risk

Over-claiming hosts. Unsupervised external chat. Ghostwritten reports. Design against those three and most disasters disappear.

A parent-letter outline you can steal

What the format is (virtual internship pathway, laptop, five modules). What it is not (employment, guaranteed letters, a live 2026 partner list). Weekly independent hours. How files are marked. Integrity rule, including generated work. Certificate meaning. LinkedIn policy. Who at school to email. Link to gvi.cc/standards/ and the FAQ. That letter prevents half of later conflict.

If you cannot send that letter, you are not ready to recruit. Posters without the letter create a claim the staff cannot support.

Pilot before scale

Twelve students, one track, one term, one presentation. Write down what broke. Then scale. Schools that start at eighty students invent operations in public and then blame the students for thin decks. GVI school partnerships should prefer a pilot. Quality is a staffing fact.

Staff time math nobody wants to do

If a mentor can mark twelve briefs in an evening, do not enroll forty without more markers. If a counselor has one period a week, do not add a private coaching promise. Write the math in the partnership memo. Quality is arithmetic. GVI school partnerships should prefer a smaller cohort that produces files a counselor will show a colleague.

Substitute plans matter. When the school adult is out, the drop still closes and the written prompt still exists. Virtual cohorts that depend on one charismatic person die the first time that person has the flu. Rhythm is the substitute teacher.

Budget time for parent email. It will come. The FAQ and family page exist so those replies can be links plus one specific calendar fact, not essays composed in panic.

Each page covers a different part of the remote internship pathway so families can compare structure, work, and evidence.
