What “active” means in practice

Each week has a required file. Group discussions assume the file exists. Webinars teach a method that shows up in the next draft. Coaching calls, as the brochure described, happen on top of that rhythm, not instead of it.

Students who only attend live sessions will have nothing in the portfolio. That should be said in the welcome note.

The online pathway is the five-module curriculum on a remote calendar, with the brochure’s 6–12 week report-and-review idea as the closing arc. Exact dates are cohort-specific and are not printed here as 2026 promises.

Community without turning into a chat club

Weekly discussions and alumni support are for comparing methods and staying honest about stuck points. They are not a substitute for source logs. Moderators should pull the conversation back to the current artifact.

Ending the online program

Report, presentation, performance review, certificate for completed work, recommendation support only where earned. Then a next-step plan the student could actually execute in the following month.

Onboarding that prevents spectator internships

The welcome note should say: live sessions without files do not count as progress; coaching calls require drafts; certificates require the closing pack; LinkedIn is certifications not employment. Students who need a spectator product should not enroll. That sentence saves anger later.

Then show the week-one file. Programs that onboard with only inspiration recreate the problem this offering exists to solve: online as passive.

What “staged deliverables” means in a calendar

Week one: decision sentence and folder tree. Then a marked brief. Then a first sheet. Then a trade-off slide. Then a skeleton deck. Then a full recommendation. Then report outline. Then rehearsal. Then closing pack. Exact dates are cohort-specific and are not printed here as 2026 promises. The sequence is the program. Live sessions that do not mention the current stage are entertainment.

Students who join late must still produce the missed files or accept a smaller completion claim. Catch-up by watching recordings is not catch-up. GVI’s honesty about certificates depends on this line. Families should see it before they treat the pathway as a video course with a badge.

Community pieces from the brochure — discussions, webinars, alumni support — attach to stages. A webinar on sensitivity belongs next to the sheet, not as a random guest night. Alumni stories belong near next steps, not as a substitute for module two.
