Research habits in one checklist

Define the decision. Write the questions before you search. Capture bibliographic detail immediately. Tag each source as fact, estimate, or opinion. Synthesize on one page before slides. If a number has no source, it leaves the brief.

Communication habits

Subject lines that name the file. Updates in three bullets: done, stuck, next. Questions that show the two options you already considered. Spoken rehearsal out loud once before any coach call.

Remote-work habits

Calendar the independent hours. Close other tabs during modelling. Keep a decision log. Send work 24 hours before a live review when you can. Sleep is a professional tool; all-nighters produce brittle decks.

Review habits

Save versions. Highlight what changed. Ask the mentor whether the recommendation is now better, not whether they “liked it.” Put the review note in the portfolio the same day.

What the library will not become

A pirated textbook dump or a list of “guaranteed” employer hacks. If a resource cannot be tied to a GVI module or artifact, it does not belong here.

A weekly use pattern

When stuck on framing, open the research-question article and module one. When stuck on the sheet, open the beginners’ data insight. When stuck on slides, open the recommendation-deck insight. When stuck on honesty, open standards and the LinkedIn insight. The library is a switchboard. Reading it like a novel is procrastination.

Coordinators may assign one library item per week as pre-reading, but only if it changes the file. Reading without a prompt is how resource pages become unread.

How teachers should assign from the library

One link, one prompt, one file. “Read the market-research insight and rewrite your decision sentence.” Not “browse resources.” Browsing is how libraries become unread. GVI would rather a student use three pages deeply than twelve as background noise.

Match the stuckness: framing, sheet, deck, report, honesty, time. The switchboard on this cluster only works if someone names the stuckness. Students often mislabel “I need more sources” when they need a narrower question. Mentors can send the research-question article instead of agreeing to another fifty tabs.

Do not assign the entire insights index as homework. That is a reading course. This is an internship company site. The work remains the file.
